RAL > NCS CROSS REFERENCE KEY:
NCS notations are given for 189 of the 194 colours in RAL K-7 (includes RAL-F14 and RAL-F81). The colours for which no translation is given have fluorescent or metallic surfaces and cannot be described accurately by NCS. The exact NCS notations and the nearest NCS Original notations are given, along with the colour difference in Delta E for each Munsell colour. In order to show how the Munsell colours are distributed they are also displayed graphically, plotted on the 40 NCS colour triangles. Cross references are given to the Munsell Book of Color Matte Finish Collection (1150 colours) and to the Glossy Finish Collection (1500 colours).

EUROSCALE > NCS PRINTED CROSS REFERENCE KEY:
The exact NCS notations and the nearest NCS Original notations are given, along with the colour difference in Delta E for each Euroscale colour. In order to show how the Euroscale colours are distributed they are also displayed graphically, plotted on the 40 NCS colour triangles. The four figures of the Euroscale code give the values for CMYK. The order in the Euroscale is YMCK which is the European standard. The American standard is CMYK. The first figure gives the percentage (1=10%, 2=20%,...X=100%) of yellow, the second magenta, the third cyan and the fourth black.

We advise that the acceptability of the cross reference is confirmed by obtaining an A6 or A4 NCS Sheet of the colour before specification or production. We keep A6 and A4 Sheets of all NCS colours in stock which can usually be supplied next day.

Cross references in the other direction, from NCS to BS or RAL are unlikely to be very close in every case due to the limited number of colours in these ranges.
